Padel Party

The relaxed playing evening: rotating partners, open-ended rounds, join and leave any time.

By Yves Richel ·

A Padel Party is an open playing evening. It runs in Americano or Mexicano mode with rotating partners, and every round counts towards one shared points table. Unlike a tournament, a party has no fixed number of rounds: the next round starts as soon as the last one is done, and the host ends the party when it is time. Anyone who arrives late simply joins in, and anyone who needs a break sits out.

How does the Padel Party format work?

01

Set up the party

The host picks the place, time, courts and the starting mode: Americano rotates partners, Mexicano pairs players with similar points.

02

Play round by round

On each court it is two against two up to the agreed score. As soon as every result of a round is in, the next round is ready.

03

Arrive, pause, switch

New players can join at any time. Anyone pausing is left out of the draw until they are back. The host can switch between Americano and Mexicano and add or drop courts.

04

End the party

The host ends the party when it is time. Unplayed rounds are dropped and the table is final.

What are the rules of the Padel Party format?

  • The table counts the points scored in every match played.
  • For every round someone sits out or has not arrived yet, they get half a round's points, so a break never sets anyone back.
  • A switch between Americano and Mexicano applies from the next round; the table carries on.
  • Padel Party matches do not count towards the PadelLeague Rating.

When is the Padel Party format the right choice?

Ideal for club nights, company events and groups of friends where people come and go at different times and fun comes before the result.

Best for: 8–32 players
