FAQ

Answers about leagues, your division and tournaments on PadelLeague.

By Yves Richel ·

General

What does PadelLeague cost?

A profile, creating and playing tournaments, your rating and your analyses cost nothing. Taking part in a league costs a fee that is set when the league is created and shown on the league page before you join. Tournament entry fees are set by the organiser.

Do I need an account to participate?

For public tournaments, yes, you need an account to join. For private tournaments, the organizer can add players by name without requiring an account. For a personal profile with tournament history and stats, we recommend signing up.

Can I organize everything on my phone?

Yes, PadelLeague works on every device right in the browser, with nothing to install. You can create private tournaments, enter results and arrange your league matches from your phone.

Is my data stored securely?

Yes, we use encrypted data transmission and strict access controls. Every user can only access their own data. More details can be found in our privacy policy.

Are there prizes for winners?

Prizes are optional. Organisers can offer their own prizes or work with local sponsors, and the event page says whether there are any. In a league, first place wins the league; there is no prize beyond that.

Leagues

How does a league work?

Every league has a location, a span between one week and three months, and someone who runs it. In a Solo league you put your own doubles together, arrange time and court and enter the result. The first three wins against the same person bring 3, 2 and 1 points, then none. In a Classic league fixed pairs play everyone against everyone on a fixture list, and a win brings 3 points, a draw 1.

Who plays in my league?

Everyone who signed up for that league, and in a Solo league also anyone who joins later. A league is not split by level, so stronger and weaker players are in the same table.

When does registration open and close?

Registration is open as soon as the league is created. On the start date the league begins with everyone who signed up, however many that is. You can join a Solo league until the last day, a Classic league closes registration when it starts.

Can I join a league that is already running?

A Solo league, yes, until the last day. Late starters can catch up: points depend on how many different opponents you beat, not on how long you have been in. A Classic league cannot be joined after the start because its fixture list is fixed.

Who can take part in the league and what does it cost?

Anyone with an account. You pay the fee shown on the league page when you join; it is set when the league is created, from a monthly fee and how long the league runs. You can still join a Solo league after it has started, at the same fee.

What happens if I don't confirm a result?

A result counts once the submitter's partner and one opponent have confirmed. Anyone who does not react is treated as agreeing 48 hours after the entry. If a result is wrong, you can dispute it. The match then does not count for now and the league's organiser decides: either the entered result stands, or the match did not take place.

What happens if I don't play any matches?

There are no walkovers. Not playing for a while costs you neither steps nor points. The rating stands still, the system only becomes less certain about you, and your next result moves you further than it otherwise would.

What happens if a league is cancelled?

Your registration is released and you get a notification. If you paid for the season, you get the full amount back. Matches that already counted stay and keep affecting your rating, but there is no winner.

How long does a league run?

Between one week and three months, set by whoever creates the league. After the last day there are three days to settle the last results. Then the table is final. By then your rating has already moved, each match at the moment it counted.

What do you win in the league?

The league itself. First place stands at the top of the final table; there is no cash prize for it. The table also moves no divisions: your division follows your rating, and the season's matches have already moved that.

Tournaments & formats

Which tournament formats are supported?

PadelLeague supports Americano, Mexicano, Move Up/Down, King of the Court, Round Robin and Knockout, plus the Padel Party as an open-ended game night. Each format has its own rules for team composition and schedule. You can also choose between scoring modes (points pool, first-to-X or sets).

How many players can participate?

There is no fixed upper limit. The number of players depends on the chosen format and the number of available courts. Americano and Mexicano work optimally with 8 to 24 players.

What are leagues and how do they work?

A league is a competition in one place over a span between one week and three months. It is played Solo, with doubles you put together yourselves, or Classic, with fixed pairs and a fixture list. Everyone who signed up is in one table, and first place wins the league. More on the league page.

How does schedule generation work?

For tournaments PadelLeague generates the schedule automatically from format, player count and courts. A Classic league gets its fixture list at the start. A Solo league deliberately has none: you create your own matches and the app suggests players who fit.

Can I add co-admins to my tournament?

Yes, you can search for registered users and add them as co-admins. Co-admins can manage players, enter results, and help run the tournament.

Players & profiles

Do players have profiles?

Yes, every registered user gets a player profile with their username, tournament history, and league participations. You can also search for other players and view their public profiles.

Divisions & tiers

How does the player division work?

Your division is a step from 0 (Iron IV) to 25 (Legend) and displays your PadelLeague Rating. The rating shifts after every match, depending on who you played: a win against a stronger pair brings more than one against a weaker pair. Leagues, tournaments and Quick Matches all feed into it, right when a game counts. There is no monthly cap and no minimum number of matches.

When does a match count towards the division?

What counts is what was played and confirmed: league matches, tournaments and Quick Matches. A league result goes in once it is confirmed, after 48 hours at the latest, a tournament once it is finished, a Quick Match once the other side has confirmed. Disputed and voided results never count, nor does a Padel Party or any match from a cancelled or unpublished tournament.

How are unregistered players handled?

Guests can play, but they have no account and therefore no rating. A match with a guest counts for less than one between registered players, because nothing is known about the guest. If neither player on one side of the net is registered, the match does not count at all.
