Create a tournament and formats

Set up a tournament in a few steps, pick the right format and run it as the organiser.

By Yves Richel ·

You set up a tournament via “Create”: you answer a few short questions, and you only need an account at the end. Creating it is free. Then you share the link, enter the results and end the tournament, and rating and divisions are updated.

Set up a tournament

  1. 1Open “Create” (/start) and under “What do you want to play?” choose “Tournament”.
  2. 2Choose whether everyone plays alone with changing partners or as a fixed pair.
  3. 3Choose the format. Americano is marked “Recommended”, formats in testing carry “Beta”.
  4. 4Set how many players or pairs take part and how many courts you play on.
  5. 5Choose the date and time. Without a date, the tournament is saved as a draft and only published once it has a date.
  6. 6Optionally add the location and choose “Private” (only with your invite link) or “Public” (anyone can find it in search).
  7. 7Give the tournament a name and check everything on the overview. Under “More settings” you find scoring, rounds, entry fee, description and prizes.
  8. 8Tap “Create tournament”. If you are not signed in yet, you create a free account here. You do not need payment details for it.

The formats

Americano: changing partners and opponents, everyone collects their own points. Mexicano: courts are seeded by the standings, game points are collected. Move Up / Move Down: whoever wins moves up one court, whoever loses moves down one.

In testing (Beta) are King of the Court (one court higher with every win, only the last round counts), Round Robin (fixed pairs, everyone plays everyone), Knockout (whoever loses is out) and Padel Party (open end, players come and go, played as Americano or Mexicano). You can use Beta formats once you are approved, via “Request beta access”.

Run the tournament

  1. 1Share the tournament code, the link or the QR code from the tournament page.
  2. 2Add players via “Add player”: by name, by @username or as a guest without an account.
  3. 3From four players, tap “Generate Schedule” and then “Start Tournament”.
  4. 4Enter the results in the “Schedule”. After saving, the next round starts automatically.
  5. 5When every match has a result, tap “End tournament”. Rating and divisions are updated right away. After that, no more changes are possible.

Frequently asked questions

Does it cost anything to set up a tournament?

No, creating it is free. As the organiser, you set any entry fee yourself and arrange payment directly with the players.

Can I organise together with others?

Yes. Co-admins have the same rights as the organiser: manage players, enter results and end the tournament.

What happens if I remove a player during the tournament?

If the tournament is already running, the player is only taken out of the upcoming rounds. Rounds already played stay.
